Fjellheim shaving soap has all the qualities a discerning traditional wet shaver looks for. The lather is easily produced with a few swirls of a good quality brush, it has good creamy consistency, is easy to apply to the face and produces great cushion and glide. No nicks and cuts! The soap also represents excellent value, it does not take much to create a lather to last two to three few shave passes. The woody fragrance is pleasant, subtle an and not overpowering.

Apart from specifics of the Fjellheim soap, Fitjar Islands is an excellent company to do deal with. Their products are of premium quality and made with due regard to nature and human wellbeing. No nasty chemicals! There might be many other companies claiming the same but not all companies are as forthcoming as Fitjar Islands in responding to emails and explaining their processes, ingredients and products.

I bought the Fjellheim refill at the end of november and the parcel come here in Italy after four weeks, just in time for the Christmas holidays.
My experience (after ten days of regular use) is exceedingly positive.
The soap refille arrived in a solid box and wrapped in multiple layers of protective paper. On opening the box, the distinctive and charming fragrance showed up as a pleasant surprise.
The soap is thick, solid but somehow creamy in texture at the touch, with a very nice overall aspect.
With five-six swirls of a syntethic brush I quickly get enough soap to get the canonical three face latherings I need (i have a strong beard and a slightly sensiyive skin). The soap produces a smooth and consistent lather, with extremely good mechanical and skin care properties (maybe one of the best I’ve tried). The fragrance is there, subtle and with a not intrusive persistence.
After the three passes and some retouch, the skin is pleasantly relaxed and no sign of irritation and cuts even in my difficult spots (neck and chin).

Once mastered the right quantity to get on the brush, the
soap consumption is negligible for the aforementioned three lathers, so it’s a really good value for money.

I appreciate the ingredient composition and the evident care put in production, packaging and shipping.
One last word about the customer service: I had the opportunity of getting in touch via email with an inquiry about the shipping time (four weeks to Italy), I got some very caring (friendly and professional) answers from Daria. It’s like you can feel the same care and passion in the product and in the customer service. And the handmade note on the invoice was an unexpected and nice touch. Bravi!

There will be times when you are confronted with how good you smell. Be careful what you say. Admitting to using scented products may jeopardise your reputation as a mountain man. You can counter this by saying you rolled in some bushes on your way over the mountain. Or better yet, say nothing at all.

Tempting as it may be to massage the luscious lather all over your face, keep it away from the eye area. Eating it will not make you more rugged and fresh, so let’s reserve it for external use only.
